The Wisdom family has been in the banking business since 1901 when C.C. Wisdom started at First National Bank in Okeene and later purchased the bank in 1925. His son, my father, C.W. Wisdom, also joined the industry, eventually purchasing Alva State Bank & Trust Co. in 1958. In October of 2024, after many years managing both banks separately, we made the decision to merge First National Bank into Alva State Bank.

Since the merger, we have come to realize that a name change would be appropriate to allow all six of our branches to unify and identify as one financial institution. We are now involved in the rebranding process to formalize a new name and logo. This decision was not made lightly. We are making each decision along the way carefully, with both the history of the bank and you, our customers, in mind.

We also want you to know that while our name will change, our Wisdom Family remains as committed to our customers as we have been since 1916. The same employees you know and love will remain, and the services offered will stay the same, with some additional features included.

Thank you for your trust, your loyalty, and for being part of our story for more than 100 years. We look forward to seeing you at the brand announcement party!

Sincerely,

Dr. Peggy Wisdom
